Sistema automatizado de alerta temprana ante el peligro de inundaciones

Abstract

Las inundaciones son una de las catástrofes naturales que más afectan a Cuba. En el Centro de Investigaciones Hidráulicas (CIH) perteneciente a la Facultad de Ingeniería Civil del Instituto Superior Politécnico José Antonio Echeverría (Cujae) se lleva a cabo el diseño de un sistema automatizado capaz de apoyar en la toma de decisiones ante la ocurrencia de inundaciones. Esto último le facilitará a las instancias responsables de la evacuación tomar medidas más certeras. La modelación de las inundaciones es un proceso complejo donde intervienen múltiples factores tanto naturales como sociales. En el artículo se realiza un análisis de los conceptos, herramientas, y metodologías que se consideran importantes en el estudio de las inundaciones, reflejando el estado actual en la solución del sistema que se propone. Palabras clave: alerta temprana, inundaciones, modelación de inundaciones, tiempo diferido, tiempo real.
