Abstract

We present the database Former Owners, set up by the University of Barcelona Reserve Library. In the introduction we present the recent initiatives carried out at European level in the field of heritage collection origins, and present our own project. We then summarize the treatment of origin information since the creation of the University of Barcelona Library online catalogue. The main body of the paper deals with the database structure and operation, as well as with the treatment of origin information in the bibliographic record.
