Sistemas de Garantía de Depósitos: Impacto de la propuesta de la UE en el sector bancario español

Abstract

Este trabajo analiza el impacto que tendría en el sector bancario español la aplicación de la propuesta de Directiva europea referente a los sistemas de garantía de depósitos (SGD) de julio de 2010. Con tal fin, se examina el perfil de riesgo de las entidades de crédito conforme a los parámetros definidos por la Directiva durante el período 2007-2010. A continuación, se comparan las aportaciones al fondo de garantía de depósitos (FGD) bajo el régimen actual con las que resultarían de la aplicación del sistema propuesto. El artículo concluye que las cajas de ahorros y los bancos hubieran resultado más perjudicados que las cooperativas de crédito con la aplicación del esquema planteado. Se demuestra, además, que un elevado porcentaje de las entidades de crédito españolas hubiesen visto aumentada su contribución al SGD, lo queevidenciaría el carácter cíclico del procedimiento sugerido por la UE
