
El creciente escepticismo con que el consumidor evalúa las actividades de venta es un importante problema que reduce, e incluso puede anular, la efectividad de las estrategias dirigidas a fomentar su confianza y, por ende, su satisfacción e intenciones de lealtad hacia la empresa. Este trabajo aborda el problema de la desconfianza del consumidor como un fenómeno distinto al de la confianza. Para ello, hemos analizado las caracterÃsticas demográficas, rasgos de personalidad y valores de 409 individuos, lo que nos permite ofrecer a las empresas que operan tanto en Internet como en el comercio tradicional un perfil del consumidor desconfiado, información clave para poder adecuar eficazmente sus estrategias comerciales.
