Caracterización de los individuos propensos al cambio de canal de televisión

Abstract

El zapping es uno de los principales problemas que afrontan los anunciantes y las cadenas de televisión hoy día. Estos agentes tratan de mitigar el comportamiento de cambio de canal a través de nuevas estrategias publicitarias y de programación horaria. Sin embargo, la primera etapa para encauzar el problema consiste en conocer a fondo este comportamiento a partir del estudio del telespectador. Este trabajo tiene como objetivo caracterizar a los individuos más propensos al cambio de canal mediante el análisis de un panel de audimetría. Para ello, se aplican técnicas de segmentación jerárquicas y no jerárquicas, con objeto de caracterizar a los individuos sobre la base de variables sociodemográficas y variables relacionadas con el comportamiento de visionado. Del estudio se desprenden interesantes contribuciones tanto a nivel de investigación sobre zapping como a nivel de planificación televisiva.
