
En este trabajo se llevó a cabo la caracterización de los patrones electroforéticos de siete sistemas enzimáticos (3 deshidrogenasas, 4 hidrolasas) y el patrón de proteínas totales en los diferentes estadios del desarrollo del camarón blanco Litopenaeus schmitti, utilizando geles verticales de poliacrilamida. El análisis de los electroforetogramas mostró que los patrones de bandas cambian entre los estadios del desarrollo, presentándose el patrón más diferenciado en las zoeas. De manera general el número de bandas, tanto enzimáticas como proteicas, aumenta con el desarrollo desde huevo hasta el adulto. Este comportamiento sugiere un aumento de la actividad génica con la ontogenia.
