Influencia de la tectónica cenozoica del Antearco peruano en el mecanismo de deformación del Morro Solar mediante el análisis estructural

Abstract

Los afloramientos rocosos del Morro Solar tienen su origen en el Cretáceo inferior durante un régimen tectónico puramente extensional el cual a partir del Cretáceo superior y durante el Cenozoico cambió a un régimen compresional ligado a un contexto de convergencia oblicua de placas tectónicas. Con el fin de estudiar la tectónica cenozoica pos depósito que se sobreimpuso a tales afloramientos, se ha colectado una importante cantidad de datos estructurales de superficie representados por las orientaciones geométricas de superficies de falla que exhiben un desplazamiento tectónico observable y microestructuras bajo la forma de estrías e indicadores cinemáticos propios de ambientes frágiles. De manera que se ha determinado dos sistemas estructurales que funcionaron en tiempos distintos. El sistema estructural más joven se conforma por un conjunto de fallas normales NE-SO a O-E que mediante el análisis estructural propuesto se ha llegado a la conclusión de que se produjeron en transtensión como el resultado de una “partición de la deformación” ocurrida en el Cenozoico para el Antearco central del Perú.
