Abstract

La investigación de materiales magnéticos es un aspecto importante en el estudio de los sólidos debido a su amplia utilización en diversas ramas de la ciencia y la técnica. A partir de la década del cuarenta del siglo pasado, el empleo de ferritas se generalizó. Particularmente, en aquellos casos en que se aplican en el intervalo de frecuencias de las microondas, las ferritas deben cumplir un conjunto de requisitos muy específicos. Por otra parte, los granates de itrio, debido a sus buenas propiedades magnéticas, son ampliamente utilizados en el intervalo de frecuencias mencionado aunque presentan el inconveniente de tener un precio relativamente elevado. Por este último motivo, se realizan investigaciones con el objetivo de obtener materiales con propiedades magnéticas similares, pero de un precio menor. De entre los posibles candidatos, uno de los que mayores posibilidades tiene es la ferrita de Li, debido a que posee propiedades magnéticas similares, la que presenta además, la ventaja de un costo menor.
