У статті розглядається генеза станових категорій у германських мовах; презентована періодизація станових категорій німецької мови як системи морфолого-синтаксичних кореляцій. Зокрема, описа- но типологію й опозиційний характер функціонування станових дієслівних конструкцій германських мов (на прикладі готської та німецької мов), здійснено спробу визначити синкретичні та ієрархічні залежності, ступінь граматикалізації та морфологізації станових категорій у німецькій мові.
