Abstract

Este trabajo es una continuación de las condiciones sinópticas para la ocurrencia de tormentas locales severas en Cuba (TLS) pero en el período lluvioso. Para ello se extrajeron los casos de TLS en Cuba reportados en el período lluvioso desde 1980 hasta el 2002 y se analizaron los datos diarios de campos atmosféricos a diferentes niveles y variables para ese período, con el objetivo de obtener un grupo de patrones o configuraciones sinópticas favorables para la ocurrencia de TLS. Partiendo de una base de datos de siete niveles atmosféricos y cinco variables básicas se confeccionó una metodología de procesamiento estadístico basada en la reducción inicial de la dimensión del espacio mediante un análisis de componentes principales, seguido de un análisis de conglomerados paso a paso dirigido a la obtención de grupos generales de patrones que permitan establecer relaciones entre ellos. Como resultado se determinaron un total de diez patrones o configuraciones pertenecientes al período lluvioso en Cuba, con la característica de que cada configuración representa una estructura tridimensional, que considera varios parámetros atmosféricos y de los cuales se realiza una discusión general por separado que demuestran sus diferencias
