La subjetividad autoritaria y el legado de la Escuela de Frankfurt

Abstract

Este trabajo se propone resaltar el análisis de la subjetividad autoritaria como uno de los más productivos y actuales legados de la Teoría Crítica de la Escuela de Frankfurt para las ciencias sociales y el pensamiento político. Con este fin, se expondrá la singularidad de la perspectiva franfkfurtiana con respecto a otras perspectivas sobre el autoritarismo, en concreto, el análisis del autoritarismo en la teoría política liberal a partir de la obra de Juan José Linz y Guillermo O’Donnell y en la teoría política marxista a partir de Nicos Poulantzas. Para resaltar la singularidad de la perspectiva frankfurtiana nos detendremos en la consideración de la obra temprana de Erich Fromm en el marco del Instituto de Investigaciones de Frankfurt para buscar allí la invención teórica del problema de la subjetividad autoritaria. Intentaremos mostrar que la particularidad del concepto de subjetividad autoritaria, con respecto a los otros enfoques sobre el autoritarismo analizados en el primer apartado, radica en su interés por el modo en el que los regímenes, ideologías y valores se hacen experiencia. Finalmente, en el último apartado, ofreceremos algunas reflexiones sobre la importancia y la actualidad de este enfoque en la crítica contemporánea de los autoritarismos y sobre la originalidad del legado de la Teoría Crítica de la Escuela de Frankfurt a 100 años de la fundación del Instituto de Investigaciones Sociales.
