Abstract

LIT. BUR̃KŠTINAS UND SL. *BЪRŠČЬZusammenfassungLit. dial. bur̃kštinas „Engelwurz, Archangelica officinalis“ (oder ein anderes, ähnliches Kraut von der Familie der Doldenblütler) und Adj. burštìnis in burštìniai burõkai „Rote Rübe“ sind wohl auf ein früheres lit. *bur(k)štis ‖ *burstis „Engelwurz(?)“ zurückzuführen. Lit.-lett. *burstis (seine Nachfolger im Lettischen sind [suņa oder suņu] bur(k)šķi, burksti „Schierling, Co­nium maculatum“ u. a.) und sl. *bъrščь „Bärenklau, Heracleum sphondylium“ lassen den Namen eines eßbaren Doldenblütlers *bstъo- als ein spezielles baltisch-slavisches Gemeinwort annehmen.
