Abstract

Define informação jurídica, discute sua tipologia e características. Identifica os problemas em relação a produção, publicação e controle da informação jurídica, seja ela descritiva (doutrina), normativa (legislação) ou interpretativa (jurisprudência). Estuda os instrumentos utilizados para manter esse controle, demonstrando suas vantagens e desvantagens. Ao final, mostra a contribuição do Senado Federal, mediante a publicação de coletâneas de legislação, da Bibliografia Brasileira de Direito e de bibliografias especializadas, e da manutenção das bases de dados de doutrina, legislação e jurisprudência (B/BR, PERI, JORN, NJUTe JURI) e das bases auxiliares (VCBS, AUTR e THE S) com os vocabulários utilizados na indexação e recuperação dos documentos. The control of legal information in Brazil: contribution of the Federal Senate Abstract This paper defines legal information, considers its tiplogy and characteristics. It raises issues concerning production, publication and control of legal information, be it descriptive (codtrine), normative (legislation) or interpretative (Jurisprudence). It presentes the instruments used to maintain that control, stating their advantages and disadvantages. Finally, it points out the contribution of the Federai Senate, by means of the publication of law collectanea, of the Bibliografia Brasileira de Direito (Brazilian Bibliography of Law) and specialized bibliographies, and by the maintenance of data bases related to doctrine, legislation and jurisprudence (BIBR, PERI, JORN, NJUT and JURI) and auxiliary data bases (VCBS, AUTR and THES) with the vocabulary used in the information indexing and retrieval.
