Abstract

Sección filial del Museu de Mallorca, creada en 1983 con el objetivo de relacionar las piezas arqueológicas recuperadas con su entorno originario, la ciudad romana de Pollentia, en Alcúdia. Se gestiona en colaboración con el Ayuntamiento de Alcúdia. Instalado en el Hospitalet, edificio municipal, del siglo XIV. El discurso museístico se articula en torno al ámbito público, con objetos que hacen referencia al forum como centro de la vida pública, al teatro y al ocio y a las necrópolis; y al ámbito privado, que presenta objetos relacionados con la casa, la religión doméstica, la preparación de alimentos, el servicio de mesa, etc. La mayor parte de las piezas expuestas corresponden los siglos I y II, momento de máximo esplendor de la ciudad.
