Perancangan Jaringan Fiber to the Home (FTTH) pada Perumahan di Daerah Urban

Abstract

Evolusi jaringan komunikasi hadir dari kebutuhan pengguna untuk tetap terkoneksi kapan pun dan di mana pun. Modernisasi jaringan terus dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas bandwidth agar didapatkan peningkatan layanan multimedia, terutama di kawasan urban. Dari berbagai media transmisi, fiber optic menjadi pilihan terbaik untuk mendukung jaringan komunikasi yang andal. Salah satu teknologi komunikasi fiber optic adalah Fiber to the Home (FTTH). Makalah ini mengusulkan perancangan jaringan FTTH dengan teknologi Gigabit Capable Passive Optical Network (GPON) yang ditujukan pada perumahan di daerah urban. Perancangan menggunakan sistem pengkabelan aerial dan duct-aerial. Analisis perancangan dilakukan berdasarkan parameter link power budget, rise time, Bit Error Rate (BER), komponen, dan biaya yang dibutuhkan. Nilai link power budget untuk uplink dan downlink masing-masing sebesar -22,792 dBm dan -23,120 dBm. Nilai rise time untuk uplink dan downlink sebesar 0,256 ns dan 0,258 ns, sedangkan nilai BER sebesar 14,628 x 10-12. Hasil perhitungan menunjukkan bahwa perancangan telah memenuhi parameter yang dipersyaratkan sehingga jaringan yang diusulkan dapat diimplementasikan. Untuk komponen biaya yang dibutuhkan, sistem aerial membutuhkan 11,56% lebih sedikit biaya daripada sistem duct-aerial.
