DETEKSI HURUF ARAB MENGGUNAKAN METODE FREEMAN CHAIN CODE

Abstract

Agama islam merupakan salah satu agama yang banyak dianut oleh umat manusia. Agama islam memiliki kitab suci bernama Al-Quran. Al-Quran ditulis dalam bahasa arab, maka dari itu umat muslim diwajibkan dapat membaca huruf arab. Huruf arab sendiri terdiri dari 30 huruf arab hijaiyah. Dengan berkembangnya teknologi saat ini maka banyak dilakukan penelitian untuk mengenali huruf dengan bantuan komputer. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah metode Freeman Chain Code dapat mengenali huruf arab hijaiyah. Masukan berupa citra huruf arab yang sudah disediakan dan hasil outputnya adalah bacaan dari huruf arab tersebut. Masukan akan diolah dengan menggunakan metode Freeman Chain Code untuk mengenali huruf apakah yang dimasukan. Proses pengenalan huruf ini memiliki 2 data yaitu data training dan data uji. Data uji berguna untuk membangun pola-pola huruf arab dan data uji berguna untuk menguji tingkat kemiripan. Hasil penelitian ini sebagian besar dapat mengenali huruf arab hijaiyah. Kata Kunci: Freeman Chain Code, pengenalan huruf, huruf arab hijaiyah.
