Cobertura arbórea y captura de dióxido de carbono en los parques urbanos

Abstract

En la presente investigación se tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación existente entre la cobertura arbórea y la captura de dióxido de carbono en los parques urbanos de Lima Norte. Para su desarrollo se diseñó una investigación con enfoque cuantitativo y tipo correlacional. La metodología utilizada consistió en trabajo de campo y trabajo remoto. Mediante el trabajo de campo se obtuvo información de la cobertura y estructura arbórea de los parques y el trabajo remoto permitió determinar los volúmenes de CO2 capturado por los parques, este proceso se realizó mediante el Software i-tree Canopy. La investigación fue realizada en Lima Norte, específicamente en los Distritos de Los Olivos, Comas, San Martín de Porres e Independencia. Así mismo el análisis de correlación se realizó utilizando el coeficiente de Pearson. Los resultados obtenidos, 0.994 correlación de Pearson, evidencian una relación positiva muy buena entre la cobertura arbórea y la captura de carbono de los parques del área de estudio, sin embargo, los valores obtenidos respecto al volumen de captura de dióxido de carbono (0.34 CO2/ m2-año) son muy bajos en comparación con los resultados de investigaciones realizadas en otras ciudades.
