In the article questions and problems of optimization of banking network in Russia due to revocation of licenses of banks, their sanitation, financial improvement and consolidation (sale, absorption, integration, merge, crushing) banks, self-liquidation or elimination on decision of the courts are considered. On the basis of studying and the analysis of these factors, the saved-up domestic and foreign experience offers on optimization of number of banks are provided in the country.
