Hábitat seguro, vivienda adecuada y digna, y disfrute de la ciudad en Ecuador

Abstract

La seguridad humana constituye un concepto muy amplio en el cual deben considerarse diversos factores, dentro de ellos es fundamental el derecho a un hábitat seguro. Al 2010, el Ecuador cuenta con una población total de 14’483.499 habitantes, de los cuales el 62,7% vive en ciudades y según proyecciones del INEC aumentará a 64% en el 2020, por lo que resulta de vital importancia el estudio de las cuestiones relacionadas con el crecimiento urbano ordenado en equilibrio con el medio ambiente, que permita el desarrollo sostenible de los núcleos poblacionales. En ese sentido, el presente estudio pretende argumentar la necesidad de garantizar el derecho a la ciudad y a una vivienda adecuada y digna para contribuir a alcanzar la seguridad humana en Ecuador.
