
El estudio de las lesiones elementales, nodulo y tubérculo esporotricósicos, permite caracterizar las formas linfangíticas y fijas de la entidad. En la linfangítica, las lesiones metastásicas, su distribución a lo largo de los canales linfáticos y su evolución, dan bases para clasificar las variedades morfológicas de tal forma. En la esporotricosis fija, la conversión del tubérculo esporotricósico en lesiones secundarias de aspecto muy variado, es la clave de las distintas formas clínicas. La leishmaniasis cutánea puede simular las dos formas y es en nuestro medio el mayor problema para un diagnóstico diferencial.
