Efectos de la novedad y de la calidad del producto en el resultado a corto y a largo plazo en las empresas innovadoras españolas

Abstract

Este trabajo defiende la importancia de estudiar la calidad y la novedad de los nuevos productos lanzados al mercado y su desigual influencia temporal en el resultado de la empresa. Basándonos en una muestra de 118 empresas que lanzaron al mercado otros tantos productos nuevos, concluimos que la adecuación de los recursos técnicos y de marketing es esencial para el resultado a corto y a largo plazo, mientras que la novedad tecnológica sólo es determinante en el corto plazo. Asimismo, la novedad de los atributos es determinante en el corto plazo mientras que la dificultad de adopción frena las ventas en el largo plazo. Igualmente, el rendimiento es la única variable de la calidad objetiva que mantiene su importancia a lo largo del tiempo. No obstante, otras dimensiones de la calidad como la adaptación o la fiabilidad sólo resultan fundamentales en el corto plazo.
