La autoridad cuestionada

Abstract

 El presente artículo revisita la “crisis de autoridad” ocurrida en las décadas de 1960 y 1970 en la Iglesia católica argentina, centrándose en expresiones consideradas “moderadas”, mientras que relega a un segundo plano las identidades que, con gran resonancia pública y atención historiográfica, desafiaron la estructura de la institución eclesiástica. Para ello, a partir de un trabajo histórico cualitativo, se estudian las columnas de opinión de Enrique Laje y Jorge Mejía, dos reconocidos teólogos argentinos, quienes criticaron a las expresiones “radicales” en favor de una renovación “moderada” en 1970, un momento en el que los cuestionamientos hacia la jerarquía se acumulaban. Si bien en el corto plazo las propuestas moderadas quedaron opacadas por la irrupción de identidades con mayor impacto público, a mediano y largo plazo terminaron sentando las bases para la Iglesia católica argentina en la actualidad.
