Abstract

A mediados de la década de 1990 México ingresó al sistema multilateral de comercio afianzando su liberalización comercial a través de una serie de políticas internas de comercio exterior. Esto consolidó la exportación de bienes terminados y diversas materias primas, que convierten ese mercado en uno de los más importantes de Latinoamérica. Este artículo identifica algunas de dichas políticas de comercio exterior caracterizando el comportamiento diacrónico de las exportaciones. Por ello, este trabajo, esencialmente descriptivo, considera bases de datos oficiales secundarias, a escala tanto local como internacional. Se concluye que entre los productos que más inciden en el total de las exportaciones de México sobresalen algunos sectores como bebidas, tecnología, electrodomésticos y automóviles, además de sectores como materias primas mineras y agrícolas. Todos ellos tienen un notable protagonismo respecto a otros países.
