Reflexiones sobre tutoría entre pares, simulación clínica y competencias en habilidades clínicas en educación médica

Abstract

La presente carta al editor reflexiona sobre el artículo publicado por López-Brotons et al., que aborda la tutoría entre pares en simulación clínica para el desarrollo de habilidades clínicas en estudiantes de medicina. Se destaca la relevancia de esta estrategia pedagógica a partir de la evidencia actual, que respalda su efectividad tanto en la adquisición de competencias clínicas como en la formación de habilidades docentes, liderazgo, comunicación e identidad profesional de los estudiantes tutores. Se incorporan hallazgos provenientes de diversos estudios nacionales e internacionales que demuestran el impacto positivo del aprendizaje asistido por pares en combinación con simulación clínica en distintos niveles de formación médica, desde el pregrado hasta el posgrado. Asimismo, se reconocen las limitaciones metodológicas existentes en los estudios actuales, lo que resalta la necesidad de investigaciones futuras que evalúen los resultados a largo plazo, estandaricen los programas formativos y validen instrumentos de medición. Finalmente, se subraya la importancia de seguir promoviendo el desarrollo y la investigación de estas metodologías innovadoras para fortalecer la educación médica.
