Abstract

Ketika masyarakat berkembang semakin luas dan kebutuhan manusia meningkat, maka hubungan dengan orang lain dengan beragam identitas primordialnya menjadi tidak bisa dihindarkan. Sebagai konsekuensi dari fakta ini adalah kemungkinan munculnya gesekan-gesekan antara berbagai kelompok masyarakat yang berbeda. Ketika menyangkut hubungan dengan penganut agama lain, Islam memberikan rambu-rambu dan batasan mana yang boleh dilakukan dan mana yang tidak. Maka kontroversi seringkali tidak bisa dihindarkan. Isu hubungan dengan orang yang berbeda agama dari kita, atau yang secara mudah sering diistilahkan dengan non-Muslim menjadikan perbedaan pendapat antara berbagai kecenderungan pemikiran dalam Islam. Sebutlah kelompok moderat, kelompok radikal, kelompok liberal, juga kelompok tradisionalis dan kelompok modernis. Tulisan ini menguraikan pola hubungan Muslim-Non-Muslim melalui pendekatan yang lebih moderat dan kontekstual.
