Abstract

Kiedy w roku 1995 słynna wystawa w warszawskim Arsenale ukazała zarówno artystom, ale przede wszystkim władzom politycznym PRL, że w Polsce nadal nie jest możliwe kontynuowanie polskiej wersji radzieckiego realizmu socjalistycznego, doszło do eksplozjimalarstwa ekspresyjnego, abstrakcyjnego, do artystycznej manifestacji sprzeciwu wobec malarstwa realistycznego. Artyści, którzy jeszcze niedawno malowali murarzy, górników i traktorzystki, pokazywali obrazy będące niemal naiwnym naśladownictwem abstrakcji geometrycznej, ale i pełnej emocjonalnego dynamizmu.
