Abstract

El Distrito de San Felipe se localiza en la porción centrooriental del Estado de Sonora, 136 km al noreste de la ciudad de Hermosillo. Las rocas más antiguas que afloran son las metamórficas de contacto, asignadas tentativamente al Cretácico Temprano; litológicamente corresponden a derrames y tobas de composición andesítica, así como a afloramientos aislados de limolitas, conglomerados y calizas. Cubriendo concordantemente a estas rocas, se presentan derrames riolíticos, ignimbritas y areniscas tobáceas de edad paleocénica. La Formación Báucarit de edad miocénica temprana cubre discordantemente las unidades anteriores y litológicamente consiste de areniscas, conglomerados y arcillas, con derrames de basalto interestratificados, principalmente en su base. Depósitos clásticos más jóvenes, a los que se ha asignado una edad pliocénica, cubren discordantemente a las rocas descritas anteriormente... Para continuar, descargue el artículo completo en PDF.
