Tras las pisadas de San Ignacio de Loyola

Abstract

La producción de la biografía fílmica de San Ignacio, El capitán de Loyola, durante los primeros años del franquismo, se gestó en un ambiente propicio para su realización, coincidiendo en menos de diez años hasta cuatro posibles proyectos fílmicos. Si bien la película no adapta explícitamente una obra de ficción previa, resulta posible rastrear las fuentes que inspiraron su argumento. Dichas fuentes, unas de carácter ficcional, otras de carácter académico, todas insertadas en la imagenería popular, permiten trazar una línea coherente desde el fallecimiento del santo en el siglo XVI hasta la fecha de estreno de la película. Así, proponemos analizar su trama desde los prismas histórico y narrativo.
