Climatología de los ciclones tropicales en la provincia Holguín

Abstract

Se presenta un estudio relacionado con la climatología de los ciclones tropicales en la provincia de Holguín. Como materiales fueron consultadas las bases de datos climáticas disponibles en los archivos del Centro Meteorológico Provincial y el Instituto de Meteorología; los métodos empleados fueron las dócimas de Mann-Kendall y de Pettit, y la Distribución de Poisson. Los principales resultados alcanzados fueron: climatología y tendencia estadística en el período 1791-2010, así como el cálculo de los períodos de retorno. Los resultados obtenidos son aplicables en la elaboración de planes de contingencia; así como en la aprobación y ejecución de construcciones hidrotécnicas, por lo que se recomienda sea utilizado por las entidades responsables de estas actividades.
