Pesquisa qualitativa: Estudo de caso

Abstract

O debate entre aficionados da pesquisa quantitativa versus os da qualitativa é acalorado nas Ciências Sociais e, principalmente, na Administração. Dentre métodos qualitativos, o estudo de caso é o que concentra mais adeptos e críticos. Alguns o consideram uma metodologia; outros, uma técnica a ser utilizada com diferentes lentes teóricas: positivista, construtivista, interpretacionista ou da perspectiva da teoria critica. Com estudos de caso, o pesquisador explora um sistema delimitado (um caso) ou vários (casos múltiplos) ao longo do tempo, por meio da coleta detalhada de dados, envolvendo múltiplas fontes de informação (observações, entrevistas, relatórios, material audiovisual, entre outros). A professora Maria Tereza Leme Fleury e os alunos Larissa Marchiori Pacheco, Karina Ribeiro Fernandes e Pablo Leão, do programa de mestrado e doutorado da FGV EAESP, indicam as principais referências sobre este método.
