Abstract

The relational data model approach is still used broadly in developing of data and information storage of the most application systems. The main restricted of using the relational model data das not support dynamically in storing information in which much more semantically of the knowledge must be kept on that data. On other hand, if information intend to be considered more formally concrete knowledge as in reality, it's difficult to retrieve the persistent data or information on the various ways of the user need. This paper has researched, analysed, and discussed of data modelling by using an ontology model based approached on constructing the data bank of flight schedule information as knowledge bases model. A protégé ontology software is used to arrange a model of flight schedule information in form of classes hierarchical, slots, and instances. The flight ontology model that has built can indicate much more semantics of flight schedule information. Additionally, the model can be used easily in form of many way of user perception need in order to make queries and results. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Pendekatan model data relasional masih banyak dimanfaatkan untuk menyimpan data dan informasi terhadap banyak sistem aplikasi. Namun kendala utama menggunakan model relasional yang masih dirasakan hingga saat ini, adalah model data relasional kurang dinamis untuk mendukung penyimpanan informasi yang lebih bermakna secara semantis. Atau jika informasi yang disimpan dapat dipandang sebagai pengetahuan-pengetahuan yang lebih kongkrit, maka untuk melakukan pencarian dengan berbagai variasi pengetahuan terhadap data dan informasi akan menjadi sangat terbatas. Pada makalah telah diteliti, dianalisis, dan dibahas pemanfaatan sebuah pendekatan model data berbasis ontologi untuk menyimpan suatu basis data pengetahuan jadwal penerbangan. Dengan menggunakan protégé, model pengetahuan jadwal penerbangan disusun kedalam bentuk ontologi secara hirarki kelas, slot, dan instant. Model ontologi yang disusun mampu mendeskripsikan informasi jadwal penerbangan secara lebih semantis. Dan disamping itu, dari model yang telah dikembangkan menunjukan bahwa berbagai cara pengguna (menurut persepsi masing-masing) untuk melakukan pencarian informasi penerbangan ataupun hasil query dapat dibentuk secara lebih mudah. Kata kunci: semantis ontologi, manajemen pengetahuan, informasi cerdas, proses pengembangan ontologi.
