A pesar de que no se hallaron variaciones importantes en la composición bromatológica de las accesiones, las especies más promisorias en las condiciones agroecológicas evaluadas fueron: B. híbrido 1873, B. brizantha 16315 y B. brizantha 16488With the objective of characterizing the bromatological composition of different accessions and apomictic hybrids of Brachiaria spp., under the agroecological conditions of Barrancabermeja, Santander, Colombia, 24 accessions of this genus were evaluated. A completely randomized experimental design was used, with 72 plots of 21 m2 each and three replications (plots) per treatment. The DM, CP, contents of fat, ash and acid detergent fiber (ADF) were determined. The dry matter contents oscillated from 23,4 to 25,7%, while those of crude protein were between 5,8 and 7,5%; with the lowest values for B. humidicola CIAT-26159 and the highest in B. brizantha CIAT-6387 and CIAT-26124. Although no important variations were found in the bromatological composition of the accessions, the most promising species under the evaluated agroecological conditions were: B. híbrido 1873, B. brizantha 16315 and B. brizantha 16488.
