Abstract

Este artigo se propõe à tarefa de compreender as forjas históricas que formam os territórios religiosos das Umbandas, refletindo sobre os diálogos étnicos e culturais que se desdobram na formação do campo Umbandístico. A paisagem dos manifestos religiosos do século XVI ao século XX é o espectro que delineia resistências e cooperações, forjando uma ontologia da umbanda que dialoga com uma diversidade de cosmovisões. Propomo-nos, ainda, a pensar sobre as implicações da narrativa do mito de origem que se forja a partir de um discurso único, georreferenciado no sudeste do país e protagonizado por Zélio de Moraes, em detrimento de outras narrativas que estavam fora desse território hegemônico de produção de discurso. Portanto, reconhecemos que um modelo único de narrativa mítica apaga as multiplicidades e plasticidades que singularizam as Umbandas.
