VIOLÊNCIA OBSTÉTRICA: A AGRESSÃO SILENCIOSA NAS SALAS DE PARTO

Abstract

Este artigo apresenta reflexões acerca da violência obstétrica no Brasil, abordando a história do parto, explicitando as práticas utilizadas, bem como as definições, categorias e consequências geradas pela violência obstétrica. Discute-se ainda a naturalização das diversas formas de violência praticadas durante o pré-natal, parto e puerpério, bem como as diferenças observadas entre os acompanhamentos e partos efetuados pelo Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS), nos âmbitos público e privado, neste último caso, quando há regulação pública. Realizou-se um questionário online sobre a vivência do parto e episódios de violência obstétrica com 120 mães. Encontrou-se, através do questionário, grande desconhecimento acerca dos próprios direitos e das práticas alternativas àquelas desenvolvidas pela medicina clássica, além disso, destacou-se a conduta inadequada dos profissionais e sua relação com a prática da violência.
