Abstract

Partimos da concepção de uma sociedade marcada pela hegemonia mundial do mercado financeiro, pela economia mundializada de corte neoliberal, por um novo tipo de imperialismo comandado pelos países centrais, com destaque para os Estados Unidos, e por uma enorme malha de redes que unem praticamente os países de todo planeta, em termos políticos, econômicos, culturais e sociais. Nesse cenário extremamente resumido, acentua-se a concentração da riqueza e da renda, por um lado, e, por outro, cresce o número daqueles que se veem obrigados a submeterem-se às condições mais degradantes de trabalho e de vida, a troco de uma sobrevivência cada vez mais precária. Enquanto o capital flui e reflui desconhecendo qualquer tipo de fronteira e de obstáculo, os trabalhadores e trabalhadoras encontram enormes dificuldades para vencer as os muros, visíveis e invisíveis, que separam os de fora e os de dentro, os cidadãos e os não cidadãos, os incluídos e os excluídos.
