Abstract

El sistema productivo de la región lagunera, así como el hídrico, tienen una larga historia tanto de conflictos y dificultades, como de búsqueda de acuerdos; situaciones que los habitantes han sabido edificar para consolidar un sistema de vida que, no obstante, presenta importantes límites sociales y ambientales. El objetivo de este trabajo es describir el uso actual de los recursos hídricos de la Comarca Lagunera así como las obras hidráulicas construidas para la administración y suministro, con especial interés en el agua superficial y subterránea, dado que se trata de un territorio árido, donde lo que se gestiona es un recurso escaso y, al mismo tiempo, imprescindible para establecer cualquier forma de vida y reproducción. Se maneja el supuesto de que, enfrentados a un medio hostil, los habitantes vigorizan una cultura hídrica a través de un paradójico sistema social en el que conviven, en conflicto, diferentes grupos que en diversos momentos han expresado intereses opuestos.
