Microempresas en Barranquilla: Una mirada desde el financiamiento privado

Abstract

Un aspecto fundamental para que las microempresas mantengan sus operaciones es el acceso a diversas fuentes de financiación. El objetivo del presente artículo es analizar las fuentes de financiación privada disponibles para las microempresas y la empleabilidad de éstas en Colombia. El enfoque epistemológico es el empírico inductivo, bajo un paradigma cuantitativo, con un diseño de investigación no experimental de campo, con un tipo de estudio descriptivo, transversal, en el que se emplea la encuesta como técnica de recolección de la información mediante un cuestionario que se aplicó a 200 microempresas del sector textil-confecciones en Barranquilla – Colombia. El cuestionario presenta preguntas con opción de respuesta múltiple y ordinal, y cuyo procesamiento fue realizado con el Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). Los resultados derivaron que de las alternativas de financiación existentes, las microempresas conocen pocas y por tanto se limitan a utilizar las más comunes, como lo son los créditos con proveedores y con bancos comerciales. Estos últimos, exigen muchos requisitos, y aquellas microempresas que no logran acceder a estos, recurren a prestamistas informales. Se concluyó que es necesario que las instituciones de financiamiento privado diseñen programas o realicen jornadas que permitan asesorar a las microempresas en torno a las fuentes de financiación disponibles para su uso.
