Interculturalidade e Modernismo

Abstract

Resumo: Nesse artigo pretende-se debater sobre uma questão levantada por Carlos Zílio em seu livro a Querela do Brasil, na qual refletia, de maneira crítica, sobre a arte brasileira e sua identidade. Levando em consideração esse mote inicial, será observada a relação entre o modelo estético moderno que vinha se desenvolvendo na Europa, e a proposta modernista da Semana de Arte Moderna de 1922 de adaptação dessa influência, para fugir da visão etnocêntrica que contaminava o imaginário da cultura brasileira. Entendendo a arte, nesse caso, menos pela questão de estilo e mais como como meio de comunicação, busca-se refletir sobre a estratégia da Semana de Arte Moderna de 1922 para adaptar a influência de um modelo cultural externo, como uma possível inspiração para ações interculturais que pudessem se impor sobre a tendência etnocêntrica de introdução de modelos culturais artificiais e importados através do uso dos meios de comunicação.
