Historia Local: El ritmo de la historia barrial

Abstract

La invitación es a pensar la historia local urbana en la perspectiva de la historia barrial. Asumiendo el barrio popular, en este caso concreto, el barrio Castilla de la ciudad de Medellín, como un lugar de identidad urbana, se interroga a partir de diversas fuentes escritas, visuales, literarias y orales, la sucesión de violencias que han acaecido en su historia reciente, los lugares de la memoria que se han entretejido a lo largo de los años y su relación con la historia local y nacional, en especial, entre los años 1950 y 2000. Se trata de superar las visiones estigmatizantes que tienden a ver el barrio popular como un espacio subnormal o anómico, y en su lugar se propone un ejercicio a escala, apoyado en los métodos indiciarios de la microhistoria de la vida cotidiana.
