Evaluación y diseño de sistemas de drenaje urbano mediante el uso del modelo SWMM 5.0

Abstract

En el diseño de un sistema de drenaje urbano usualmente se emplean metodologías que sólo permitan conocer el comportamiento estático de los elementos hidráulicos que lo componen. Sin embargo el uso de herramientas informáticas permite conocer la respuesta dinámica de todos los elementos que conforman un sistema de drenaje urbano para un evento, de lluvia. En el presente trabajo se analiza el modelo SWMM, Versión 5.0 en español, desde el punto de vista de su conceptualización hidrológica e hidráulica, información de entrada requerida y resultados factibles de obtener. Como ejemplo de aplicación del programa se modelará la 1era etapa de la urbanización La Trigaleña ubicada en la Parroquia José Gregorio bastidas, Municipio Palavecino, estado Lara. Este urbanismo posee un sistema superficial de recolección y evacuación de aguas de lluvia, el cual será evaluado mediante este software a fin de conocer si cumple con los objetivos para el cual fue diseñado. Para efectos del estudio la urbanización se discretizó espacialmente en subcuencas las cuales se descargan en las calles y estas a su vez conducen el agua al punto de descarga, obteniéndose niveles de inundación en las calles superiores a los establecidos por la normativa vigente, haciéndose necesario el implementar una red de sumideros que permitan disminuir los niveles de inundación en las calles. se logra a través del SWMM 5.0 obtener un sistema donde tanto las calles como la red de sumideros dan salida a la escorrentía de las aguas ateniendo niveles de inundación aceptables.
