
Este concepto del teatro frívolo, escrito por el poeta Luis G. Urbina y publicado en El mundo Ilustrado, en 1908, aún es vigente para las capas de la clase media, que siempre ha visto toda manifestación popular con gran desprecio y ajenamiento. Sucede todo lo contrario con el pueblo, quien encontró en el teatro de revista su propio lenguaje, sus formas de expresión y medio de comunicación.
