Ensilaje salino de Opuntia tomentosa: investigación acción-participativa con caprinocultores

Abstract

Con el objetivo de desarrollar una tecnología de fácil aplicación para el ablandamiento de las espinas de nopales silvestres, se realizó un ensayo de investigación tipo acción-participativa en una granja caprina de escala familiar en el municipio de Valle de Santiago, Guanajuato, México. Se aplicó un proceso de ensilaje salino a 5% en nopal silvestre picado (Opuntia tomentosa). Se evaluó la flexibilidad de la espina y la gustosidad del producto por las cabras a los 0, 7, 14 y 21 días. Desde los 14 días presentaron flexibilidad las espinas y la planta fue ampliamente aceptada por las cabras. Se concluye que se generó una tecnología social apropiada para el aprovechamiento de recursos nativos.
