HÁ DEMOCRACIA NA VULNERABILIDADE SOCIAL?

Abstract

Em razão da pandemia da Covid-19, que tornou o mundo ainda mais desigual, a democracia liberal, paradigma hegemônico que já estava em crise, necessita ser repensada para uma prática social inclusiva. Nesse contexto, o objetivo geral desta pesquisa teórica foi refletir sobre a democracia participativa como alternativa ao modelo essencialmente representativo diante da vulnerabilidade social. Como resultados, evidenciou-se que a democracia liberal limita a participação individual e coletiva para não colocar em risco a acumulação de capital perante as reivindicações de distribuição social. Logo, a democracia, visando à justiça social perante a vulnerabilidade, necessita ser estruturada em quatro dimensões: a de distribuição, a de reconhecimento, a de representatividade e a de participação. Em conclusão, entende-se que a renovação política requer, por meio da coexistência e da complementaridade entre participação direta e representação indireta, a redistribuição de recursos, o reconhecimento da pluralidade cultural e a inclusão social.
