DENDROMETRIA DE ESSÊNCIAS NATIVAS

Abstract

A dendrometria no Brasil tem sido aplicada predominantemente em inventários florestais, com vistas à exploração de madeira. Assim sendo, as medições têm sido restritas ao DAP e altura das árvores, determinantes do volume de madeira comercial. Propõe-se que novos parâmetros sejam avaliados, considerando que atualmente a medição das árvores se presta não só aos objetivos de inventário, mas também a estudos fitossociológicos e à avaliação de experimentos silviculturais de produção e proteção. Algumas peculiaridades precisam ser consideradas em se tratando de espécies florestais tropicais, devendo a medição das árvores envolver novas dimensões, novos conceitos, que permitam a visualização global de cada indivíduo na comunidade, segundo os objetivos da medição.
