Masculinidades en la narcocultura

Abstract

Sinaloa es una región en la que confluyen diversos fenómenos sociales como el narcotráfico, la narcocultura, las industrias culturales y creativas del narcotráfico y los buchones. Los estudios sobre la narcocultura en relación al género son escasos, y son pocos los que utilizan un marco teórico de los hombres y las masculinidades para su análisis y mediante trabajo de campo, este artículo es un aporte a ese vacío. Mediante entrevistas y del uso de conceptos que hacen referencia a una masculinidad dominante, engreída y abusiva, se construyó un tipo ideal de hombre. Los resultados muestran que existe una configuración de hombría llamada manguera, que practica una violencia abusiva, una presunción fanfarrona de la importancia y una dominación violenta de las mujeres. Las implicaciones para futuras investigaciones muestran que es necesario analizar si existe una contraparte de masculinidad honorable en la narcocultura.
