A metrópole e seus deslocamentos populacionais cotidianos: o caso da mobilidade pendular na Região Metropolitana de Campinas em 2000

Abstract

O artigo analisa a constituição dos fluxos de deslocamento pendular na Região Metropolitana de Campinas relacionando esse fenômeno ao processo de expansão urbana, em geral, e à migração intrametropolitana, com a qual está fortemente correlacionado, em particular. Também são feitas considerações quanto às características socioeconômicas e demográficas da população que realiza o deslocamento pendular e em que medida essa modalidade de deslocamento condiciona essas características. O artigo também busca operacionalizar novas perspectivas teóricas, capazes de contemplar a complexidade que o fenômeno do deslocamento pendular adquire, particularmente na sua relação com a constituição social do território metropolitano.
