Fluxo Migratório, Crescimento da Renda per capita e Convergência de Renda no Brasil: 1991-2000

Abstract

O presente trabalho investiga o efeito da inclusão da migração no crescimento da renda per capita, na velocidade de convergência e no índice meia-vida. Para tal, foi reespecificado o modelo de crescimento de Solow-Swan Aumentado com a inclusão da migração. Como estratégia empírica, para a correção do viés de endogeneidade, foi considerado um conjunto de instrumentos, o uso do teste do Multiplicador de Lagrange (LM), do teste Anderson-Rubin (AR) e do teste da razão de verossimilhança condicional (CLR). Os resultados evidenciaram que a migração teria afetado positivamente a convergência irrestrita ao quadruplicar sua velocidade, reduzindo de 6,08 para apenas 1,65 anos o índice de meia-vida. Alguns sinais paramétricos foram condizentes com o proposto pela teoria enquanto outros evidenciam a ausência de corroboração com a teoria.
