Evaluación toxicológica de productos naturales usando microtécnicas

Abstract

"dado que la toxicidad de las plantas medicinales usadas en la medicina tradicional necesita ser estudiada, se determinaronlos efectos tóxicos de diferentes extractos obtenidos de cuatro productos naturales de Baja California Sur (México):Lepechinia hastata (Lamiaceae), Haplopappus sonorensis (Asteraceae), Lophocereus schottii (Cactaceae) y un animal marinoLophogorgia rigida (Gorgonaceae), por medio de microtécnicas, usando 2 microorganismos invertebrados: Daphnia magna(crustáceo) y Panagrellus redivivus (nemátodo). Los resultados se compararon con la toxicidad determinada en ratones CFW,concluyendo que los micro-bioensayos pueden servir para explorar el grado de afectación o toxicidad de las muestras, o comouna prueba adicional a las realizadas con los métodos clásicos, ya que los resultados analizados muestran que existe ciertogrado de correlación entre la toxicidad determinada usando microtécnicas con respecto a la determinada en ratones CFW."
