Um novo olhar sobre a fissura palatina

Abstract

Analisando acusticamente dados de fala de um sujeito portador de fissura pala­tina e de um sujeito sem fissura, observa-se que, contrariamente ao que a literatura médica usualmente descreve para esses casos, o sujeito fissurado não posterioriza invariavelmente os sons, em particular as consoantes plosivas, mas as realiza como o sujeito não fissurado. A diferença entre a fala de um sujeito e outro está na organização temporal da cadeia da fala, já que as durações relativas de vogal tônica e de consoante plosiva se distribuem de modo diferente para os dois sujeitos. Os dados sugerem, portanto, que a característica patológica da fala do sujeito fissurado não está na “troca” de um som por outro, mas no detalhe fonético. Por isso, este estudo argumenta que, para explicar os dados, é necessário adotar um modelo dinâmico de produção de fala que incorpore a variável tempo. Do contrário, é impossível proceder a uma análise adequada dos fatos verificados.
