Abstract

Tolstoy, being one of favourite writers of Kushner, constantly accompanies his lyric hero, and the range of themes of "War and Peace" and "Anna Karenina", finding a faint sound in poems of Kushner, is very wide. These reminiscences form group round major questions of Tolstoy's creative consciousness: philosophy of history, attitudes toward an art, to the image of man in his nature, perception of nature on a contrast with frequently false relations between people. Each time lyric attention of Kushner gets in some very meaningful verge a heritage of Tolstoy. But it does not interfere with a poet at times to enter into a dispute with late Tolstoy, over-estimating the value of art a side.
